What is the use of knowledge if it cannot be utilized or shared? That's how SpiruCation came about.
In the beginning stages of our project, we came across the fact that many people don't know anything about Spirulina, or that it even exists, which we found problematic as our project wouldn't be as effective if people don't know anything about the main aspect of what we do. We then decided to have SpiruCation ... Education about Spirulina.
We hold SpiruCation workshops with schools all over Cape Town in hopes that we can create awareness about Spirulina. At those workshops, we teach the group of students about what Spirulina is, it's uses and benefits, how to grow it as well as safety and hygiene whilst doing so, in a enjoyable and interactive manner so that they feel as if they'd like to participate, and not like they're stuck in another Biology period.
We would like to form a chain so that those who we teach may also teach others and so on. In that way, knowledge about Spirulina will reach those who need it most. We also provide the school with a SpiruPack (Spirulina starter pack) so that they have everything they need to continue with Spirulina production.
Schools may request this free workshop via email and arrangements will be made thereafter.
It takes more than three pairs of hands to save the world. So, would you like to save the world with us?
